We are three brothers on a mission to save hardworking people in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas thousands of dollars on quality couches.
It all started in a garage...
2020
Liam started the business, selling used sectional sofas during the Covid-19 pandemic as a way to make ends meet. His video production business completely dried up as all in-person video shoots were cancelled or indefinitely postponed. But, he had a two-car garage at the time and Facebook Marketplace was growing in popularity.
2021
Carlton graduated early from high school at 15 years old, and followed Liam's example of buying and selling couches, running his own separate couch business, while also working a job as a bookkeeper.
2022-2023
Liam was splitting his time evenly between video production and the couch business. His first child was born, so he pivoted from selling refurbished used couches (very labor and time intensive) to selling truckloads of liquidated couches from well-known brands in order spend more time at home.
Carlton was focused solely on selling used couches, and was quickly growing beyond what he could handle on his own.
2024
Liam & Carlton decided to officially join forces and work full-time on their newly combined couch business. The name Kindred Couches was chosen to represent the family nature of their partnership, as well as their desire to treat all of their customers as they would treat their own kin.
2025
Liam and Carlton brought their middle brother, Nathaniel, into the business at the beginning of 2025 with a three-year growth plan. Through focused efforts and hard work together, their original three-year goal was accomplished in just one year, making Nathaniel a full partner in Kindred Couches.
2026
The three brothers moved from their scrappy 6,000 sqft space into a consolidated 10,000 sqft facility. Previously spread across multiple buildings, this move allowed them to centralize inventory, improve delivery times, and create a more comfortable showroom experience. Customers now have a dedicated showroom area to see and select their next couch, and there's even HVAC and running water now!
TODAY
Our Motto is "Saving Hardworking People Thousands on Quality Couches" That's why we decided to move away from liquidations and focus only on offering new couches. We found we could offer similar quality to our liquidation items, at an EXTREMELY competitive price! Looking ahead, we're excited to bring you even more models, work with more USA manufacturers. We will continue to push for fast delivery and are committed to providing 5-star exceptional service.

We want every customer to feel a sense of trust, comfort, and connection, like you're being taken care of by your own kin. While it is admittedly slightly cliché, its extremely prevalent in our nearly 300 5 star reviews. And as for the “couches” part...well, we sell couches!!
